Do I need to book before I visit the sports centre?
Yes, booking is still required for ALL gym sessions, group exercise classes and Lane/Adults Only swim sessions at Abertillery and Tredegar. There is no longer any booking needed for public swim sessions at any of our centres - these are all now pay on entry.
How do I book a gym/swim session or group exercise class?
Life members can book via the app or website, non-members can call their local centre or book in person at reception.
Can everyone use the app?
Only customers with a life membership can book sessions and classes via the app.
I’ve forgotten my PIN for the app – what do I do?
You now require a password for greater security. You can set this on the app or website but if you have any queries, please ask reception in your sports centre.
Can I have my password given to me via social media or messenger?
No, you will need to reset your password on the website or app.
Can I reset my own password on the app?
Yes, you can reset your password on the app.
How much is a life membership?
Our memberships start from £21.00 per month, to find out more click here
How do I take out a life membership?
You can either join online by clicking here or call your local sports centre or pop in and see our reception teams.
Is there a membership discount for students?
Yes, our student life membership is £21.00 for over 16s, £17.50 for 12–16-year-olds and £12 for under 12s and is available to all students in full-time education.
Do you give discounts for private organisations or organisations such as the NHS?
Unfortunately given the many cost challenges we face, such as gas and electricity to run our sports centres, it isn't viable for us to provide discounted memberships. However, we do have a concession membership to support members of the community who are eligible.
What happens to lost property?
All items of lost property are retained for two weeks, during this time they can be reclaimed by contacting the sports centre directly. After two weeks, any unclaimed items are then donated to our Community Kit Room.

What age do swimming lessons start from?
Our swim school starts from 4 months and goes through to adulthood.
Do I have to be in the pool with my child for their swimming lesson?
Splash stages 1, 2 and 3 require an adult to be in the pool with their child for their lesson. Splash stages 4, 5 and 6 a teacher will accompany the child in the pool. For children in Wave 1, there is no teacher or children in the pool and teaching will be undertaken from the poolside; parents and guardians can watch their child from the viewing galleries in Abertillery and Ebbw Vales sports centres or waiting outside the pool facilities in Tredegar sports centre.
Can two adults go to a Parent & Toddler session with a child?
Parent and Toddler sessions are for one parent and one toddler, but an extra adult can book and pay to join them as long as there is space in the session – call your sports centre for more info.
Are there any free swimming sessions for children or over 60s?
Yes, we have weekly free swim sessions for under 16s and over 60s at all of our centres – to view our swimming times go to our swimming page and select your preferred centre.
Is there a swimming admissions policy?
Every child under 4 must be accompanied by 1 adult - this has to be on a one-to-one basis, if you have multiple children under 4 there needs to be one adult for each child.
Children aged 4-7 must be accompanied by 1 adult for every 2 children.
Children aged 8 and over don't require adult supervision as long as they are competent swimmers.
Those aged 16+ are considered adults.

What’s the minimum age for Adult Swim sessions?
Swimmers must be aged 16+ in order to access our Adult Swim sessions.
Are there age restrictions for the hydro slides?
There are no age restrictions, but if a child is under 1 metre in height they must be accompanied by an adult.
What age can children use the pool without an adult accompanying them?
Children must be aged 8 or over to use the swimming pool without an adult.
Can children use the gym?
Children aged 11 can use the gym at any time when accompanied by an adult. We also have designated Junior Gym sessions in each sports centre where children aged 11 can access the gym on their own. Outside of the Junior Gym sessions people must be aged 16+ in order to use the gym on their own.
Can children participate in a group exercise class?
The minimum age to attend any of our group exercise classes without an adult is 16.
If it’s a class that uses weights, young people aged 14 can attend with an adult and if it’s a class that doesn’t use any weights children aged 11 can attend with an adult.
