Swimming Admission Policy
If you’re visiting our sports centres for a swim with children, please remember the following safety rules for admission to the pool:
Every child under 4 must be accompanied by 1 adult - this has to be on a one-to-one basis, if you have multiple children under 4 there needs to be one adult for each child.
Children aged 4-7 must be accompanied by 1 adult for every 2 children.
Children aged 8 and over don't require adult supervision as long as they are competent swimmers.
Those aged 16+ are considered adults.
Please remember that if you are bringing multiple children swimming you need to have adequate adult supervision in order to access our pools – customer safety is our top priority.
Please note that Parent and Toddler sessions are for children under 4 years old.
Booking
Ebbw Vale Sports Centre - No booking is necessary for any of our swim sessions - please note that there may be a band system in place to manage capacity at busy times and there may be a wait.

Go Learn
As a parent, being able to easily monitor your child’s swimming development is important.
To help you do this we’ve introduced a digital platform – Go Learn – which means you can see how your child is progressing in their swimming lessons and manage the admin of ensuring that they have continued enrolment in lessons.
What does this mean for you?
You will need to provide a current email address for each parent/guardian with a child in a swimming programme
You will be able to keep up to date with your child’s progress; what needs a little work and what has been achieved
You can manage your payments and top up your 10-week block of swimming lessons without waiting to get through to our busy receptions
You will receive automatic reminders; reminders will go out with 3 weeks, 2 weeks and 1 week to go
You will receive reminders to collect certificates and information about progress to a new level will all be visible in Go Learn
What happens now?
As soon as we have a current email address for each parent/guardian, your child’s details will automatically be transferred over to the Go Learn system and you will receive an automated email with a link to access the parent portal where you can view your child’s progress.
It’s that easy! Please note that this portal will only become operational once your child is booked into the next block of swimming lessons.
If your child’s lessons are paid via direct debit we will automatically enrol your child into the new block of swimming lessons.
If you have any questions regarding Go Learn or enrolment please contact one of our centres or email the swimming team – swimming@aneurinleisure.org.uk
